Acts 2:32

The context

Peter speaks at Pentecost to a crowd of pilgrims, after the Spirit's arrival and the charge of drunkenness. He has quoted Joel and Psalm 16 and has argued that David's tomb is still with them. Verse 32 draws the conclusion and adds the note of eyewitness testimony.

What it establishes

It establishes that the resurrection was proclaimed as a public event with named witnesses, not as a private vision. The claim is put in the first person plural: the apostles are speaking of what they saw, and the sermon's logic depends on it.

What it does not establish

It does not establish that the witnesses were unbiased. The verse asserts testimony, not neutrality, and the speakers had recently fled. Nor does it prove the resurrection; it reports a claim Luke's hearers are invited to weigh.
