Colossians 2:2-3
The context
Paul writes to a congregation he has not visited, facing teaching he considers a distortion. The paragraph is a prayer report: he struggles for them so that they may have encouragement, unity, and full assurance. Verses 2 and 3 name the goal and then the location of what they need.
What it establishes
It establishes that the letter locates wisdom and knowledge in a person rather than in a body of teaching or a set of practices. The language is emphatic, piling up terms for understanding in order to say that they converge on Christ.
What it does not establish
It does not make study unnecessary. The letter tells its readers to be established in the faith as they were taught and warns against being taken captive by argument. The verse claims a location for wisdom, not an exemption from the work of learning it.
