Deuteronomy 34:7
The context
This is the closing chapter of Deuteronomy, after Moses has blessed the tribes and climbed Nebo to look over the land he would not enter. The narrator records his death, his burial, and the people's mourning. The verse interrupts that account with a physical description of the man at the end.
What it establishes
Moses died at the end of a long life without the decay usually associated with age. The detail serves the story's estimate of him and marks his death as a completion rather than a decline.
What it does not establish
It does not set a norm. The verse reports one man's condition, and the same book has already said that the wilderness generation died over forty years; nothing here makes 120 typical or promised.
