Hebrews 11:7
The context
Hebrews 11 is the chapter of faith's examples, running from Abel and Enoch to Abraham, Sarah, Moses and Rahab. Verse 7 sits early in that list, after Enoch and before Abraham. The chapter's pattern is consistent: a word from God, a response, and a result that the person did not yet see.
What it establishes
Faith is presented as action taken on a warning about something not yet visible. Noah is commended for reverence and for building what he was told to build, and the result is the salvation of his household.
What it does not establish
It does not describe the ark or the flood. The verse gives no dimensions, no chronology and no account of the flood's scope; those come from Genesis and are not the point here. Nor does it say Noah understood everything he was doing.
