Job 38:7
The context
Job 38 is the LORD's answer from the whirlwind, and it is a series of questions rather than an explanation. Job had demanded a hearing; he is asked where he was when the foundations were laid. Verse 7 comes early in that catalogue, between the measuring line and the laying of the cornerstone.
What it establishes
The verse establishes that the creation was accompanied by praise. The morning stars and the sons of God are parallel, and both are pictured as shouting at the sight of the world's founding. The image makes creation a public event rather than a private act.
What it does not establish
It is poetry, not a cosmological report. The verse does not say what the morning stars are, does not settle the identity of the sons of God, and gives no chronology. It belongs to a divine speech meant to widen Job's horizon, not to inventory the heavens.
