The context

Revelation 19 follows the fall of Babylon and the hallelujahs of a great multitude. John falls at the feet of the angel who has been showing him these things, and is told to stop. The same correction recurs near the book's end, with the reason given that the angel is a fellow servant.

What it establishes

It establishes that the visionary refuses veneration of the intermediary and redirects it to God, and that the book does this twice, at two climactic moments. The explanation given is shared servanthood.

What it does not establish

It does not define the testimony of Jesus. The clause can be read as the testimony about Jesus or the testimony borne by Jesus, and the Greek allows both. The verse also does not explain how prophecy and testimony relate beyond the compressed equation it makes.

Short note, first pass, October 2026. Corrections welcome.
