Romans 10:14-15

The context

These verses complete the chain begun in verse 14, adding a quotation about the feet of those who bring good news. The argument belongs to Paul's discussion of Israel's failure to respond, and it uses the sequence to locate the point of breakdown. The quotation is from Isaiah and is applied to the preachers.

What it establishes

It establishes that Paul treated the sending of preachers as a link in a chain that runs back to a commission. The quotation grounds the practice in Scripture rather than in expediency.

What it does not establish

It does not say who sends or how. The verse assumes a sender without describing the process, and it does not address the case of those who never hear. Paul's next move is to Israel's hearing, not to the unevangelised.

Short note, first pass, October 2026. Corrections welcome.
