If only the words of Jesus matter, why do we need Paul and the rest of the New Testament?
Jesus never offered His words as a standalone authority: “the Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35), and He promised the Spirit would guide the apostles into more truth (John 16:12–13). The red letters arrive through the same channel as the rest.
